Efficiency & Affordability
A mixed use, multifamily building comprising 70+ apartments with retail on the ground floor. The goal was to produce an affordable and accessible architecture while maximizing efficiency in terms of construction cost, usage and environment: quality housing with light materials and thermal isolation, frugality in construction and energy consumption.

Energy & Sustainability
SWAPP presented several cost-effective designs that complied with the strict energy code, while also achieving high levels of sustainability.
Net-zero energy
Achieved 25% savings in energy usage through a highly efficient design utilizing efficient HVAC systems, low-consumption lighting, and more.
Code compliance
Met or exceeded compliance requirements with all building, environmental, and other codes and regulations.
Recycling and local materials
40% reduction in carbon footprint vs. typical buildings.
Renewable energy
Solar-ready roof
The seven-story building is enriched with landscape and articulated with thin wooden slabs and a rhythmic façade configuration. Through the structure of the balconies, emerges an architectural style that expresses visible assemblies and sliding panels
Open Space Configuration
The open gallery strategy makes possible a run-through configuration for all flats, an intrinsic quality allowing space expansion, clearance of corridors, as well as simple and effective natural ventilation.
The balconies protect the shutters and the woodwork by setting them back from bad weather.
